Cleaning jobs do not have many requirements. There are more physical requirements in this job than there is academic. Cleaners are expected to be able to handle heavy equipment and machinery and prove their experience as a cleaner. Knowledge of the types of cleaning chemicals and supplies is advantageous to the job. Some companies may ask for GCSEs, but it is an extreme rarity that A-Levels are required. These jobs can be physically exhausting and sometimes require a strong stomach. New hires usually receive on-the-job training from their colleagues on equipment operation, cleaning techniques, and safety measures.
