What Local Jobs are there?

There are many local jobs available for various careers. The most common type of local job to find is likely to be found in the retail, hospitality and manufacturing sectors. For example, working in a local cafe, restaurant or store would have a simple process for interviewing and training (e.g. coffee training, bartending training etc.) Jobs located close to home are beneficial for many reasons, one of them being reduced travel costs. Furthermore, it provides flexibility and good work/life balance when the majority of an employees day isn’t taken up with travelling for hours. The countryside can often produce jobs on farms in agriculture, animal care and much more.

Local Jobs Requirements

Requirements will depend on the role. Retail assistants may be asked for GCSEs (or equivalent) as well as experience. Training is usually provided on the job. This falls similarly with bartending and cooking. However, some employers will require a lot of experience or culinary qualifications when attempting to become a chef. Full-time jobs such as taxi drivers may require candidates to go through training as well as have a valid driving licence.
