Employers will ask for GCSEs as well as A-Levels (or the equivalent) to make sure the criteria are met. Most receptionists will receive short-term on-the-job training, typically covering the ins and outs of the company and the procedures of the job. Having experience in similar jobs is helpful and can assist in applications. Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel is useful, along with knowledge in social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
