Kao Salon Division EMEA are looking for an experienced commercial leader with a balanced background in external sales and in country, regional or global commercial strategy, and execution in the Salon Professional industry.
The role of Commercial Strategy & Planning Director is responsible for both the development and implementation of a multi-channel go to market strategy across EMEA region, reporting into the Vice President EMEA. The key purpose of the roles is to enable EMEA markets with ideas, programs and tools to support the hairdressing industry in re-building the business in the post pandemic environment.
Key areas of responsibilities will focus on commercialization of initiatives, building sales capabilities across the region and Trade Terms & Pricing strategy, and implementation. Another key element of this role is to collaborate with global design team and multi-functional partners to support development of mid-term plans and provide input on needs, and opportunities from local markets.
To be successful in this role you will be an agile leader who is strong at reflecting on the past, learning everyday from the world around them and able to create vision for tomorrow that is in line with rapidly changing needs of the industry. It is essential you have 3-5 years of in market roles e.g. Sales director of the country and commercial/trade marketing/sales capabilities role in the country, region or global structures. You will have demonstrable experience in developing Go to Market strategies and executing them, possess a genuine passion for and be engaged in Hairdressing industry and l ove working with in multi-cultural and multi-dimensional organization aligning and influencing up, down and across the organization.

What you will do:
Work with the GBU, in line with global strategy, to provide input and deliver the go-to-market commercial strategy to drive sales and to support the annual and mid-term brand initiative plans, including providing the commercially profitable plans to grow Sales, Margin, Operating Income, and Market Share, while appropriately Managing Inventory, Markdowns, and handling Demand Plans. The CS&P area is responsible for the annual planning and forecasting, and supports the Marketing with the NPD (new product development) planning and forecasting. This also includes supporting customer experience & process optimization and business case management where applicable. Co-development of initiative/education toolboxes, materials, and guidelines, in line with global strategy, for execution for local markets, with special emphasis on the commercial initiative deliverables. This includes partnering with the GBU to provide feedback on local program success, Global Creative Experience project management, salon (point of sale) POS software digital marketing, working to localize Global Initiative Tools where applicable, working through the regional Marketing teams to ensure local market legal requirements are being met and setting up sufficiency checks to sign off on local go-to-market activities as required. Help localize the differentiation of brand initiative strategies from the GBU, to drive sales in a multi-channel, multi-brand environment, in line with global strategy. This includes supporting SCM with 3PL location design, the analytics to support Sales for Distribution Strategy and SKU (stock keeping unit) level optimization as required at the customer level, and Business & Loyalty program platform & content management. Lead the planning for field sales, and local sales management, training and capability in the development and delivery of product and persuasion knowledge, ensuring local sales leaders are identifying skill gaps, building standardized expertise and language consistency, and fielding teams that are fit for purpose to drive sales. This includes such things as community building, internal business conference planning and execution, SFDC/CRM training, support & content management, and where applicable LMS (learning management system) deployment & content management, etc. Delivery of the annual budget guidance to support local markets, through recommendations on the building blocks of pricing, initiatives, distribution and base business drivers. This includes all levels of channel commercialization, including Direct, Distributor, Wholesaler, Retail, Chains, Multi-Cultural, Ecommerce, Insides Sales, etc. General oversight and compliance to drive the organization to standardize and manage better data collection, through such things as organizational hierarchy standards, centralized event and seminar booking & administration, standardized cost center management and standardized sales/activity/financial reporting. Additional responsibilities related to Sales Strategy & Planning as directed by the Vice President, Commercial from time to time. Leadership and management of the Regional CS&P Team, including recommendation of refinements in team structure, identification of key deliverables and recruitment of roles. This includes general oversight and compliance of the local market field organization structure and title management.
What you will need:
Degree or equivalent market experience Proven 7+ year's commercial/ sales experience in the professional salon market, working across multiple channels Regional & Global experiences are preferable History of designing and successfully implementing new functional or regional teams into an organization Leadership - leading the Regional CS&P team deliver against their individual objectives. Indirect leadership of local market CS&P functions to create plans in line with strategic direction Influence - Envision and influence the global business unit and local market teams to create and deliver commercial plans that deliver business growth Collaboration & Leveraging Multi-Functional Resources - working across functions within the Regional team to coordinate efforts and tools to deliver against identified priorities Customer strategic alignment/execution - ability to make choices on key projects which will have the highest potential for business return Communication - ability to communicate clear priorities and progress tied to business results in common format across geographies Strategic Thinking - ability to analyse, understand core drivers for change and develop holistic plans to execute change and bring about improved performance/results
