The role of the Data Privacy Manager UKI is accountable for supporting the DPO in all GDPR requirements pertaining to the UK&I region. Supporting the delivery of the key responsibility regarding the handling and protection of employee and customer personal data assets in line with legal and regulatory compliance requirement under the UK Data Protection Act 2018, ROI Data protection Act 2018 and GDPR.

Support delivery of processes, policies and procedures to ensure that UK & I is compliant with Deutsche Post DHL Group personal data processing corporate guidelines, industry best practice and the appropriate legislation.

The Data Privacy Manager UK & I will be responsible for the detailed roll out and delivery of processes, procedures, training and guidance as developed with the DPO to underpin a Data Protection Management System to ensure compliance of the region with applicable Data Protection related legislation including but not limited to regulations related to GDPR, DP Police Directive, Freedom of Information, Caldicott medical data and similar requirements.

The principle objective is to support the DPO and business in delivering the detailed customer and internally focused elements to protect the company's and customers information assets and reputation in line with legal requirements and contractual arrangements. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of a compliant culture within the region and rolling out the specified data protection compliance framework for UKI in conjunction with the DPO and Data Protection Champions.

Key Responsibilities;

Supporting the DPO in ensuring compliance with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act 2018 and ROI Data Protection Act 2018 which brings the regulation into UK & ROI country law.
Deputising for the DPO when unavailable to ensure continuity of support to the business. Specifically provide coordination with country regulators on behalf of DHL in line with regulation including analysis of, communication of and implementation of guidance. Single point of contact for UKI.
Lead implementation and refining of data protection controls, processes and standards with end users in the business.
Coordinating with, training and directly supporting Data Protection Champions within the region to ensure that they effectively deliver localised focus support to their allocated business unit(s).
Managing Data Privacy Impact Assessments with business stakeholders to ensure that high risk processing is identified and mitigated focused on regression recording, new business opportunities and changes to processing in current operations to minimise the risk to DHL and the data subjects. Delivery of Data Processing Reports and where required gap analyses and mitigation plans. Support the maintaining a register of data processing operations and suitable reports to prove compliance.
Working directly to support the operations and Champions to mitigate, remove and manage data processing risks identified in Data Privacy Impact Assessments, Audits and Breach Reports. Reporting on status and progress of mitigation plans to DPO.

1 to 2 years' experience within a Data Privacy role.
Experience and knowledge of a corporate environment.
Good knowledge of data protection and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulation especially legal, technical and organizational frameworks.
Experience, ideally practical implementation experience, in a Data Protection or similar compliance based role.
Understanding of technical IT frameworks such as ITIL, ISO/IEC 27000 family.
Understanding and awareness of current data management and communications technologies,
Proven experience in supporting the delivery of change improvements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pragmatic & highly effective problem solving skills – analytic and reasoning.
Effective stakeholder management.
Commercial understanding and customer focus.
