We are currently recruiting for a positive, enthusiastic and skilled Hair Inserter to join our Creative team, based at our MMM creative hub in Acton, London. You will focus on hair insertion for Madame Tussaud's wax figures for new and existing attractions. This will be on a fixed term contract until 17th Dec 2021.
No day will be the same as you could be working on many different projects - different heads, different hair, different hair styles, different celebrities! Potentially the 'highlight' of your career.
As a Hair Inserter you will be part of a talented, creative team, platted together, supporting each other, reporting into the Hair Supervisor.
Your main objectives will be…
To complete Hair Insertion projects to an agreed standard specification and time frame. To achieve sign off of all your projects by the Hair Supervisor, Senior Sculptor & Principal Sculptor following the appropriate critique process. Complete other hair tasks such as wig making, hair buying, processing and rough cutting.
What technical skills do you require?...
Experience of hair punching (in particular wax and silicon) and wig-knotting are highly desirable, but more important is the right can do energetic, positive attitude, as training can be provided.
A hair and makeup professional qualification or degree / diploma is also desirable, or a hair / make-up related apprenticeship.
To be successful in this role you will need...
Great attention to detail, with good listening and questioning skills and you will need to be a good communicator - all essential when taking a sometimes complicated brief and having to work closely to detailed specifications.
Good time management is essential and you will need to be comfortable working to tight deadlines sometimes under time pressure. There can often be many changes during the course of a single hair project so you will need to be open to having to make a number of changes to your work if required and not taking it personally!
Finally, we are all about the team so we want you to be a team player who will support others and share your highs and lows, share information with colleagues, be open to feedback and developing your skill set.
