To underwrite business in accordance with the Motor Trade business plan and within delegated underwriting authority.
Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to
Underwrite new and existing cases for the motor trade product
Develop strong relationships with new and existing intermediaries and major clients
Support the development of cross class business opportunities
Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business plan
Positively promote the department, division, and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage
Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience
Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge
Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio
Intermediate level understanding of relevant software including Excel and other departmental software packages
Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
ACII/FCII - Progress toward
Desire to gain knowledge and skills in underwriting environment
Excellent people, networking, and communication skills
Excellent organisation skills with ability to work to deadlines
Market awareness and intermediary development acumen
An understanding of the value of transacting business efficiently
