Full Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health and Social Care
Teacher to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be
responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, inspiring students to
develop a deep understanding of the sector and preparing them for
further study or careers in health, social work, and related fields.
This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a Health and Social Care
Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Health and
Social Care, covering key topics such as human development, health
promotion, and social care practices
- Support students in
preparing for BTEC, GCSE, or A-Level assessments, ensuring progress
for all learners
- Use a variety of teaching methods to cater
to different learning styles and abilities
- Assess, track,
and provide feedback on student progress in line with school policies
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that
encourages discussion and independent learning
- Work
collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum
development and enrichment opportunities
- Engage with parents
and carers to support student progress and well-being
- Promote an understanding of careers in health, social care, and early
years settings through guest speakers, trips, and work-related
learning opportunities
Ideal Health and Social Care
Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Health and Social Care, Social Sciences, or a
related subject
- Experience teaching Health and Social Care
at secondary or post-16 level
- A strong understanding of
industry practices and vocational learning pathways
- Passion
for the subject and the ability to inspire students to consider
careers in health and social care as a Health and Social Care Teacher.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
