Quality Control Analyst

Location: Cheshire 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Industry: Manufacturing / Chemical / Technical
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Shifts Monday to Friday 

  About the Role

Our client, a well-established and reputable manufacturing business, is seeking a Quality Control Analyst to join their technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual with a strong chemistry background to play a key role in ensuring product quality, technical support, and continuous improvement across the production plant.

Reporting to the Technical Manager , you will be responsible for performing both qualitative and quantitative testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, using advanced analytical techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure all products meet internal and customer specifications.

  • Use a range of analytical methods including HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer, particle size analysis, RI, SG, and titrimetry .

  • Support manufacturing by providing accurate and timely technical data.

  • Sample raw materials and finished goods following safe and compliant procedures.

  • Carry out evaluations of new and alternative raw materials.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the correct functioning of laboratory equipment.

  • Assist with non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform effluent testing in line with environmental standards.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation in compliance with SOPs and internal quality systems.

  • Support internal audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and lab compliance at all times.

About You
  • Degree-qualified in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a quality control laboratory environment.

  • Proven hands-on experience with HPLC and GC instrumentation is essential.

  • Strong working knowledge of a range of analytical techniques.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a methodical approach to work.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
