An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2x full time Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to work within the Emergency Department at the Fairfield General Hospital. We are looking for clinicians with commitment, flexibility, enthusiasm, excellent clinical skills, and who are keen to work as part of a hardworking and dedicated team. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Practitioner with proven leadership skills who will support the emergency medical teams whilst developing their own advanced clinical assessment skills. The role encompasses undertaking assessment of undifferentiated patients attending ED using a range of different assessment and management methods under the direct supervision of the ED consultants and senior clinicians. They will demonstrate safe, critical decision-making in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with emergency medicine Consultants/Senior clinicians and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures relevant to the ED. You will join an already existing ACP workforce consisting of qualified ACPs. You will work as an autonomous practitioner in the scope of your practice and experience. You will be clinically supported by the Emergency Medical consultants and any support required to enhance your skills further will be reviewed on a regular basis by your medical supervisor and clinical lead. The successful applicant with be supported by the Clinical Lead for Advanced Practitioners with an allocated Emergency Medicine Consultant to support them through the highly intensive Royal College of Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Practitioner adult and paediatric curriculum. The Clinical Lead for Advanced Practitioners takes the learning and development of Advanced Practitioners assertively. You be given monthly clinical professional development (CPD) time and any further support that is required for you to develop will be arranged for you. Our Emergency Department consists of an area for minors/majors/paediatrics/resus and urgent treatment Centre. As part of this post you are expected to cover all these areas within the emergency department, contributing to the flow of emergency department patients and actively assessing, treating and either admitting/discharging or referring patient to appropriate area or specialty.
