Over the last 15 years of operation, Leeds GATE has a demonstrated an award-winning track record of community activism, social action and member-led innovation. The roleWe are looking for a caring and committed individual with a passion for justice and a structured approach to join our team as Advocacy Team Leader. You will co-ordinate, develop, and provide a high quality and accessible advocacy service across West Yorkshire. The service will provide information, signposting and support to Gypsy and Traveller individuals and their families. You will work holistically to improve wellbeing, promoting and supporting self-advocacy and adhering to GATE’s values including GATE helps people to help themselves. You will build strong and trusting relationships to our members, making every contact count. You will be a deputy safeguarding officer for the organisation – making operational decisions and training and developing others. You will lead a small staff team and ensure effective processes, recording and evaluation of the service. You will work with a range of partner agencies across West Yorkshire to ensure increasing accessibility to Gypsy Traveller communities. Salary: £25,801 - £28,785, NJC Scale Points 21-25, annual review and increment within scaleHours: 35 per week Leave: 28 days annual leave plus 14 Bank Holidays pro rata Pension and benefits – 5% Employer contribution pension.
