Category Marketing Executive
The Category Marketing Executive's purpose is to help lead the execution of Category Range Review activity across all marketing and digital channels, working cross functionally to ensure alignment of category plans and marketing communications. Your role is to write and deliver clear, insight driven briefs to our creative agency and wider Customer Team to ensure consistent, customer-centric and multi-channel marketing comms that also deliver against Range Review KPIs. You are responsible for managing and tracking the delivery of Range Review projects for the Customer Team, ensuring on time delivery and the best possible customer experience. Key Responsibilities Actively seek to understand Category Trading Teams objectives and product ranges to help shape their Category plans. Use category and competitor information to effectively brief the Customer Insight team to gain relevant insight that gives a thorough understanding of the category and customer. Review and analyse competitor activity and market trends to form Halfords category marketing plans and ensure they are ahead of the market. Discuss, review and analyse category insight with the Customer Insight team to help define insight recommendations and ensuring marketing comms are aligned with customer needs. Use insight and category knowledge to write Creative Agency briefs ensuring a consistent, multi-channel marketing comms that also delivers return on investment for categories. Be the champion for the category by aiding the Buyer to brief category insight and plans to the Marketing and Digital Teams. Organise the collation of category data and insight from across the business and be responsible for providing a single, comprehensive Category Brief to ensure aligned objectives, marketing comms and multi-channel activity. Be responsible for managing and tracking the implementation of Range Reviews for the Customer Team to ensure on time delivery. Take ownership of assigned emails and associated content within the annual email plan to ensure they are customer first, deliver on category priorities and result in increased engagement/click rate YOY. Seek out supplier funding and partnership opportunities to maximise content assets, provide incremental marketing YoY and contribute to category GFR targets. Produce and communicate highly informed and engaging marketing plans in the appropriate format to relevant stakeholders. Lead the marketing and digital post-implementation review of range review activity, to ensure learnings are captured and fed into future activity plans. Build strong and trusted cross-functional relationships to help grow the individual categories. Proactively identify potential execution issues and address these with the relevant teams prior to any launch. Drive cost and efficiency improvements by owning and continuously improving the end-to-end marketing range review process to ensure on-time, cost efficient and effective range review delivery. Work collaboratively with category, marketing, digital, finance, IT, space planning and merchandising to deliver aligned range reviews supported by strong customer & category rationale. Maintain the Marketing Annual Activity Plan for Range Reviews, building a strong relationship with the Range Planning Team to ensure that all range review activity is documented at the relevant time in the plan. Key Skills/Experience Demonstrable experience in a marketing or a category role coupled with experience of effective cross functional working. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised environment, with experience in managing multiple projects at any one time. Proactive attitude with a motivation to challenge the status quo and propose new ideas. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Excellent written communication skills; previous brief writing experience is highly desirable. Accomplished verbal presentation skills, with experience of presenting to a variety of groups. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships Ability to analyse customer insight to inform decision making.
