Are you a Shop Manager looking for a great place to reach your full potential and make a difference?

We have ambitious plans for our future development and need an enthusiastic Shop Manager to join our team and make a difference.

With a broad range of donated and bought in products, we are looking for a dynamic and flexible manager who has the customer and the charity at the heart of everything they do; who are commercially aware, driven and hands on to maximise profits, helping us to raise valuable funds.

You need to have the passion and leadership skills to motivate a team of volunteers.

Working 5 days a week (including Saturdays on a rota basis), the successful candidate will have previous retail experience (ideally in a Charity Shop environment) as well as experience of cash handling and banking. You will have good organisational skills and the ability to implement effective window displays.

Epos experience and a current UK driving license are also essential.

In this varied and exciting role you will be instrumental in ensuring your shop is a successful part of the community, working closely with our Rehoming Centre in Aspley Guise and representing HULA, part of the National Animal Welfare Trust.

The role is full time with working hours 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday on a rota basis.

Requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience / Skills

Essential:

3 years experience in the retail sector, or other relevant experience will be considered

Ability to develop the efficiency of day-to-day running of shop

Excellent communication, customer care and interpersonal skills

Experience of managing/supervising supporting staff and volunteers

Demonstrable knowledge of administration tasks and IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

The ability to undertake banking tasks, keep basic records and organise resources in a busy environment.

The ability to be flexible and work as part of a team

Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire regulations and ability to identify potential risks

An empathy with the aims of NAWT is essential.

Current driving licence, with access to a car

Experience of working with an EPOS system

The successful candidate will be hard working, honest and reliable. S/he will be good humoured and will enjoy meeting and greeting the general public. They will appreciate the value of teamwork and good customer care. The Shop is often the first contact the public have of HULA part of NAWT and therefore the image presented is important.
