At ICX4, a Client Data Architect is at the heart of our data engineering business and is critical in ensuring that the data assets that ICX4 procure and process can be utilised on behalf of our clients. From understanding our data assets, where they come from and how they can be utilised for our expanding group of clients, the work Data Architects undertake is varied from day-to-day, but is focused around a few key disciplines: Client Data Modelling, Client data mapping and analysis Client Data profiling, standards and common taxonomy of 'cleans' Assessment and Analysis of Client Data Linking to the businessDNA Core Platform Working with clients to relate their requirements to businessDNA Client Data Architecture Basic Applied Data Science in finding information from SOLR and improving the accuracy and precision of how the businessDNA Applications delivers analysis Application, Platform and BAU support ICX4, through its businessDNA platform is an end to end data engineering service that takes common and related information from external data sources in vast quantities, creates a set of single, related master sources. This cover companies, individuals, products/instruments and locations inside a global relationship structure and combines this with our clients' data sets, which we then update hourly, daily etc as the underlying sources change and update. Where the Core Platform Data Architecture Team manages this end to end process up to the stage where the data structures are loaded into SOLR (the Analytics and Configuration Rule databases) the Client Data Architecture Team's role is to manage and own how the applications and products built by businessDNA, utilise the data structures produced to meet client requirements and business needs. This team's role is to leverage the data structures and analytics from SOLR and the Analytics and Configuration Rule databases, through the businessDNA Web Applications. The Client Data Architect's role is to not only ensure that the businessDNA applications support the analysis use cases for which they were intended, but also that businessDNA can satisfy the client analysis use cases for on-boarding new client data sources, assessing existing client sources and improving how businessDNA can better support its client business through the anticipation of what the client could do better through analysis of client data. To achieve this the Client Data Architects are expected to work with the client to define use cases to understand the underlying ' what and why' and also with the core platform data architects to align the approach and outcomes with 'how' businessDNA supports them as client representatives on projects and day to day issues (both internal and external). Responsibilities On-boarding Data Modelling and Mapping- the businessDNA platform is driven by a series of entity data models linked to one another through a relationship model. These models are used to not only create a common data structure for all the various sources of data we process, but also to facilitate the data processing pipeline, SOLR data structures, as well as the display and configuration rules that the application layer uses. Being able to map a schema to a standard model using a mapping engine and being able to ensure compliance to that model are critical parts of this. For the Client Data Architect this means being able to map new data sources, running data discovery profiling process and through this defining use cases and approach for new projects and new data sources which includes; coverage and gap analysis, w ork with the Core Platform Architects to refine and implement continuous improvements to entity resolution process, d efine new rules/test design working with the core data team from DQ through profiling to link outcomes and baseline reporting to clients, b aselines and analysis of outcomes. Matching and Linking of Data Sources - Our engine is used to create a single external master, client master and combined client/external master for each entity type businessDNA supports and the relationship mappings between those types. This process creates an entity-based system from linking the records from various sources to one another. The data architect's ability to understand the linking process, algorithms, how the model and profiling work and creation of a similarity taxonomy is critical for this aspect of the role. For the Client Data Architects this requires; o wnership of client definition of required outcomes and reconciliation of system against those outcomes, w orking with clients to define detailed BRD for any new merge & link requirements, an a detailed understanding and ability to support the core merge & link process and link engine to be able to translate client requirements to the Core Data Architecture team and relate back to a businessDNA process. Applied Business Analytics combined with Applied Data Science - The purpose of the Data Architecture team is to improve the relevancy and precision of the application performance through building term libraries and applied SOLR based learning techniques such as search/term analysers, search graphs and link analysis. Taking market developments and being able to apply them onto a big data platform is a fundamental requirement for this team on this platform. The Client Data Architects are the key conduit in defining the best in class Client Analytics to establish the effectiveness of businessDNA in delivering to contract. The Client Data Architects also enable the client to leverage businessDNA platform(s) to meet its specific business use cases ('what and why'). This means; Gap analysis between client analytics requirements and the existing analytical capabilities of businessDNA, d efinition and documentation of analytical use cases to address client issues/projects or support new business, and, o wn the analytics databases from a client perspective and be able to leverage SOLR through businessDNA Web Applications to service client needs. Client Analytics for BAU, Projects and New Business - businessDNA delivers data engineering solutions to our customers on a continuous "always on" service with regular updates of both data and platform as both DaaS (data as a service) and SaaS (software as a service) for our customer to leverage 24 x7. The client data team are first line support (the "what and why") with the core data team as second line support for issues with the data, linking results or analytics which the client teams cannot resolve. In addition, they work with the client teams as part of the platform solutions group to define the 'how' when the client defines a 'what' and 'why'. Ensure reporting to client is fit for purpose on a daily basis Handling ALL client data issues as they are raised Undertake Client projects in partnership with the client and be able to complete BRD/SOW and requirements specifications that can fit into the SDD format and enable the SDDs to be expanded to cover client needs Work with both existing and new clients and also provide presales support where required Run client workshops and training sessions about how to leverage businessDNA analytics You will be expected to be familiar or gain familiarity with how SOLR functions, the search capabilities and analysers out of the box it provides and contribute to how businessDNA can improve its search relevancy and move applications towards information 'push' based on user interests and behaviour monitoring in the data. Required skills and experience Advanced to expert level MS Excel . Postgres / SQL - able to run queries to interrogate data sets and to also test cleansed data-warehoused data. Data Visualisation - able to define schemas for summary tables, based on analysis of detailed result tables, able to use Excel, Postgres, SQL and SOLR, or comparable tools to build data structures for APIs to leverage. Data analysis skills - able to perform data quality analysis around consistency, qualitative and quantitative analysis, completeness; and identify gaps, variance and repeating patterns in the data, able to build end-to-end analytical scenarios and data use cases. Data Engineering - understanding of pattern analysis of tens of millions of records in a big data environment and able to define and follow a process to identify changes to data flow and transformation based on detailed pattern analysis. Data Architecture - able to understand the data flow, transformation, model and link engine concepts and process as well as the data model underpinning businessDNA, able to define application model use cases for data flow and transformation. Applied Data Science - be able to understand utilise SOLR concepts and the whole AI approach in the context of businessDNA pre structured and classified data models and documents in SOLR - training will be given with SOLR. Exceptional presentation skills - able to present to an internal and external audience with impact. Experience of working to deadlines and within interdependent team environments.
