Job Purpose Working as part of Multidisciplinary Team to meet the Health Care needs of all college students and ensuring own clinical practice is in line with Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct. There may occasional be requirements with this role for overnight stays on site, along with working Monday to Sunday, with Sunday's requiring the successful candidate to be on call. Main Duties: Assess and treat minor illness and minor injuries of students presenting at College Medical Centre Nursing Prescribing appropriate medication using a PGD and through Nurse Prescribing ( where qualified to do so) Provide Emergency first aid treatment as required. Refer patients to appropriate members of MDT as required Assist GP with his / her surgery Maintaining and updating medical records ( both civilian and MoD) using EMIS Assess, Plan, Implement and evaluate care of students admitted to sick bay Provide Pastoral Care when required Act as a patient advocate as appropriate Assist Doctor with PULHHEEMS and New Patient Medicals as appropriate Oversee Health Care assistants in all clinical areas Maintain high standard of care and delivery for specialist clinics Promote Sexual health amongst student population Advise students attending Smoking Cessation Clinic (if qualified to do so) Preventive Health Provide immunisation schedule for students undertaking foreign travel Ensure own clinical practice is in line with Infection Control Policy Clerical Ensure all new students are registered with the local GP Practice Maintaining and updating medical records (both civilian and MoD) using EMIS. Additional Duties Take charge of the CMC in the absence of the Senior College Nurse Health and Safety Light driving duties, student chaperone for medical appointments as required In Service training for Health Care support workers through experiential learning and Toolbox talks Complete safety checks on all medical equipment prior to use, in line with Local and MoD Policy Assist in formulating and evaluating risk assessments, relevant to CMC
