This is a national role and the location is negotiable. Regular travel to Newcastle is expected.

Part time (30 hours per week), Permanent

We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe we'll engage with you digitally where possible.

Our newly formed Customer Engagement team are the DNA of Home Group. We make sure we deliver the services are customers want and need to meet their aspirations.

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome (and growing) Customer Engagement Team. You'll take engagement to the next level by coordinating opportunities for our customers to work towards their future aspirations in relation to apprenticeships, volunteering and employability.

You'll be responsible for developing a programme of skills development for our customers. You'll work closely with our engagement team to identify local opportunities and other stakeholders to enable partnership working.

Our manager isClaire Blacka and she's worked at Home Group for nearly 16 years.There are6of us in the team and we don't just love to support our customers, we're there for each other too!

Where you'll work

You'll work acrossthe whole of England and in Scotland too.The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we'll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.

Working hours

It's the team's unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child's school play, your partner's graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you

You have extensive experience of managing performance and know how to motivate and lead your team. You have experience of delivering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to customers to support their skills development.

You use your strong negotiating and influencing skills to motivate our customers and stakeholders, helping them to reach their aspirations.

Its mega important that you've got a passion for delivering outstanding programmes of work, and have the ability to lead employment and training initiatives. You're able to identify and share best practice which drives improvements and aligns to Home Group's national targets.

You also have a proactive approach to resolving operational and people-related issues, thinking through and finding solutions to complex issues.

You develop strong external networks with training agencies, careers service, other employers etc as well as with internal stakeholders including senior management.

Our customers have told us that they expect you to be passionate about your job, enjoy working with people from all walks of life and have a great sense of humour.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment and software. You'll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So it's really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it's your "can do" positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

It would be great if you had the right certificates, however we appreciate that you might have the some great transferrable skills and the desire to work towards getting certified. Amongst some of the skills we are looking for are - a qualification in IAG.

As this is a national role, you'll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (we pay your expenses to cover this use!)

You'll have the chance to shape your own diary. However you'll likely spend around2/3 days or so per weekon the road, and working from an agreed base the rest of the time.

When you join, you'll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don't have a transferrable one.
