A Utilities client of mine based in Hatfield are looking to on board a Data Governance Lead on a permanent basis.
The critical expectation of the successful candidate will be that they can come in and set up the DG capability in a green-field environment, bring a best-practice knowledge of the artefacts required, understand the detail of data quality management, the roles and responsibilities of a DG organisation and most importantly, understand the business change implications of setting up and running a successful DG organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behaviour policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets Serve as a liaison between Business SMEs, Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for managing data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning Serve as a liaison between Data Protection and Security areas to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly understood, communicated and implemented Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
EssentialMinimum of 10 years of experience in a major services organization, including large-scale data or project management and oversight experience. 3 years in a management role, with C-level change or transformation leadership experience. Knowledge of industry leading best practices in data quality, governance and management and how these can be used to gain a competitive advantage Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection Knowledge of data related regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done
