Data Privacy & Protection Advisor
Overview / Responsibilities Wood is looking for an organized and proactive individual who has the data privacy knowledge and passion to become our Data Privacy & Protection Advisor, based in the United Kingdom. The position will report into the Data Protection Officer (DPO), whilst working closely with the wider data protection team to oversee and ensure the execution of the company data protection strategy. The individual will be responsible, on behalf of the DPO, for the maintenance of Wood’s Data Privacy and Protection programme, which is intended to align the business with global data privacy and data protection regulations and industry best practices. They will also be responsible for generally supporting ongoing activities of the Privacy Team including; Collation, analysis and presentation of high-quality data protection reports for presentation to executive and other senior leadership teams within Wood Coordination and maintenance of data protection communication and training plans and the internal data protection ambassador network Assistance in the issue and completion of processing assessments and data protection impact assessments on the OneTrust System Collaboration with wider Wood functions in the implementation of new data protection laws across jurisdictions where Wood has a presence Responsibility for responding to general queries from the privacy mailbox, leading lower risk incident investigations and supporting the DPO in major investigations The overall goal of the Privacy Team and this role is to achieve a global privacy culture where data privacy compliance is recognised and embedded. The position is based in the UK, ideally in London. Skills / Qualifications Educated to degree level Knowledge, skills and experience: Knowledge of data privacy including the General Data Protection Regulation Prior experience managing cross functional projects/programmes Proficient with Microsoft Project, powerpoint, Excel and accustomed to self-teaching on other IT systems. Familiar with Visio Strong organisational skills and able to convince people to meet deadlines and contribute high quality, relevant materials Familiarity with OneTrust privacy systems Experience in change management environments and successful stakeholder engagement Personal attributes: Solutions orientated and problem solver Sef-motivated, resilient team player who can motivate others and proactively move tasks forward Flexible thinker who can adapt as required Strong communicator, both written and verbal Good attention to detail whilst maintaining an appreciation of the broader picture Ability to work as part of a team that serves the whole of Wood Ability to self-direct own work tasks and meet agreed deadlines Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world’s most critical challenges.
