Delivery Manager (Afloat)SF31849Faslane, HelensburghSalary £45,000 - £49,000About the roleHere at Babcock International, we are looking for a Delivery Manager (Afloat) to lead and manage a team of Delivery Co-ordinators to deliver Fleet Engineering work packages identifying and specifying resource demand. You will be providing a clear interface between the execution of work by the Fleet Engineering team and Fleet Programme Team.Main responsibilities include;• Through a team of Delivery Co-ordinators, lead and motivate a team of 50 - 75 employees including Sub-contractors to ensure all activities are carried out in line with the company's safety, quality, time and cost requirements• Promote a safety culture and compliance with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation in line with ISO standards, and the Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies ensuring that assessment of risks are carried out• Create and maintain an environment of continuous quality, process improvement and employee participation within their delivery team, with a focus on developing and employing standardised systems and processes throughout and across projects• Apply technical expertise and ensure quality standards are achieved across the project and ensure that Learning From Experience is shared across the Delivery and Fleet Programme teams, through effective team working and/or sharing of resource• Work with the Fleet Programme Team to define and detail the work required to deliver each activity, and develop and manage demand profiles for internal resources and external subcontractors to satisfy project requirement and any changes within the project• Work with the Delivery Afloat Manager and Delivery Co-ordinators to actively promote and manage team development and to manage performance of the Delivery team• Demonstrate effective progress reporting and communications for all levels of the project, ensuring Fleet Programmes receive daily, weekly and monthly updates• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across all key interfaces eg; HS&E, Resourcing, QA, Sub-contractors and ships staff

What do I need to do the role?The Delivery Manager (Afloat) requires a broad breadth of knowledge with a good awareness of engineering principles including nuclear engineering; mechanical and electrical engineering systems and equipment; and support functions such as scaffolding and slinging.Competent and experienced in complex Fleet Engineering work packages, procedures and processes.You must also have strong experience in man management and leadership, and a background in production is also useful.

What else do I need to know?This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, but it is recommended for employees to travel by car due to the location.We require an element of flexibility for this role with the expectation of being available to be contacted out of hours, as well as being contactable via pager for some parts of the year if there is an emergency.
