Job Description The Wild Planet Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a vision for the landscaping of a botanical garden and zoological collection. You will be responsible for developing the botanical gardens at Paignton Zoo to maximize their contribution to our mission of local and global conservation, engagement and advocacy. This includes leading a team of skilled gardeners in all aspects of daily gardening, creating new displays, enhancing animal exhibits, managing tree safety and contributing to the planning of major new developments. Paignton Zoo is a member of the BGCI and ERA and prides itself on botanical as well as zoological conservation work. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience working in public gardens at a senior level. You will have substantial knowledge of botanical and horticultural management with a level 3 horticulture or equivalent qualification. You will also have a proven track record of leading teams, including in all aspects of Health and Safety and budget management. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification would be an advantage. Experience of botanical conservation and research and involvement in relevant gardens networks is also extremely desirable.
