Our responsibilities include: • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment • Provide utilities services • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering) • Provide a safe place to train • Allocate Service Families Accommodation • Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair • Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning • Act as steward of the Defence estate • Provide the unarmed guarding service We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman. You can view our YouTube video to see more about our work Job description The Challenge The PfMO Benefits and Improvements Manager is responsible to the Assurance and Continuous Improvements Manager for ensuring effective benefits management and supporting benefits realisation across DCT’s portfolio. The Benefits and Improvements Manager will also be responsible for improvements including undertaking the appropriate analysis, recommendation, development, stakeholder engagement, communications and implementation of improvements. Responsibilities Main Responsibilities • Develop and implementation of Benefits Management Strategy across DCT • Undertake initial and ongoing health checks on Programme/Project benefits information to ensure understanding across portfolio and ensure continued and ongoing development • Work with Programme/Project benefits owners to promote effective benefits management and advise on effective benefits management practices • Support Programme/Project Managers in the development of benefit management plans, benefits maps and benefits profiles at programme/project level • Provide SME support on benefits management, monitor outcomes from reviews against forecasts and identify lessons learnt and continuous improvements. • Provide assurance to the portfolio on the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits management including independent MPA and Gateway Review and P3M3 independent assessments. • Aggregation of project/programme benefits into Portfolio level benefits • Analyse information from various sources, including the Learning from Experience database, to produce trend information and recommendations for continuous improvements within DCT. • Input into improvement activities identified outside DCT including Future DIO and MPP initiatives. • Develop improvements in discussion with DCT, MPP or DIO as appropriate. • Provide appropriate communications and support on improvements to ensure understanding and their effective implementation. • Ensure P3M3 and High Performing Team activities are undertaken including the preparation for independent assessments, co-ordination, communication and report production Desirable Experience & Skills Experience: Experience of benefits management in a project/programme or service delivery environment Behaviours We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process: Leadership Changing and Improving Working Together Making Effective Decisions We only ask for evidence of these behaviours on your application form: Leadership Changing and Improving Working Together Technical skills We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process: P3M27 – Benefits Management - Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) Professional Competence Framework Benefits We enable our people to work at the right place, with the right people, at the right time.
