(11232) Description We have disrupted the way people travel since we started 25 years ago and, in recent times, have faced the biggest disruption in our history, but we are back flying and want you to come and join us. We carry more than 96 million passengers annually, over 1000 routes across 36 countries. We lead the industry in data, digital, web, engineering and operational innovations, to make travel more easy and affordable for our passengers. We take sustainability seriously, and we are the first major airline to operate net-zero carbon flights across the whole of our network. easyJet has been decisive in meeting the challenges presented by the current pandemic by cutting costs, reducing our capex while retaining our fleet flexibility and securing an additional £2bn in funding. After grounding our fleet in March, we successfully resumed operations in mid-June, incorporating new enhanced bio security measures to ensure our staff and customers can fly safely. We will gradually ramp up our flying to around 75% of our routes from August, albeit with lower frequencies, so our customers can travel again. You need to have resilience to work here (as recent events have shown) but the experience you gain is like no other. We are looking to recruit an Employee Relations Lead. You will support the business by leading the provision of expert professional advice and coaching to the business. You will manage the ER matters and the creation and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.  About the role;  Employee Relations Lead and coach the ER team to provide timely and responsive coaching, advice and support to HRBPs and Line Managers on the implementation of change initiatives and on complex disciplinary, grievance, performance, flexible working and absence matters and escalate issues as appropriate. To lead and co-ordinate Whistleblowing investigations raised through the Speak Up Speak Out programme To track, monitor and analyse the causes of employee relations cases and identify and deliver interventions to reduce their re-occurrence. To support the implementation of large scale change projects including managing the redeployment process, co-ordinating and attending 121 meetings; issuing supporting documentation including redundancy calculations; and supporting line managers with redundancy outcome/dismissal meetings. Processing of settlement agreements including liaising with Legal Advisors and completing notifications to HR Service Centre To lead the management of Employment Tribunal cases working closely with Legal Advisors. To lead, co-create and deliver an ongoing programme of People Management training to line managers in order to improve the management of people issues within the business Maintain and update own knowledge of HR issues and employment legislation, ensuring that knowledge is shared and acted upon within the team and across the business. To support the creation and delivery of local engagement action plans which link into insights generated from Peakon surveys as required HR Policy and standards Assist the HR Service Centre to resolve queries and provide advice to managers and employees on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies to ensure consistency and fair application. To ensure relevant policies and procedures, and Line Management tools and guides are regularly updated and reviewed in line with statutory changes, emerging trends and changing business priorities To engage with trade unions and other representative bodies on key changes to policy Attendance Management Working with Line Management and the Occupational Health and Safety team to pro-actively manage short and long term absence cases; accurate recording of absence and appropriate management to facilitate a return to work. Review trends relating to absence management and propose solutions based on data interpretation to proactively reduce absence levels. Support and implement wellbeing initiatives Manage the relationship of the Occupational Health, EAP and Drugs and Alcohol testing providers on a day to day basis to ensure all third party providers are meeting or exceeding performance measures as set out in contractual arrangements General To lead and develop the ER team ensuring objectives are set and reviewed periodically in line with company expectations and engagement through Peakon is reviewed with team action plans in place to address concerns To monitor and analyse people and ER specific metrics and recommend interventions to improve overall performance Any other reasonable duties as requested Requirements of the Role About you; Essential: Experience of managing a small, ideally remote team Previous experience in advising on complex/volume Employee Relations activity such as disciplinary and grievance management and have an excellent working knowledge of UK employment law Previous experience in working within an union environment is preferred Ability to build relationships with customers at all levels of the organisation. Experience of working within a fast pace, multi-site HR organisation. Ability to demonstrate and combine a methodical and organised approach to work situations with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate resilience Development orientated and self-motivated Ability to interpret policies and procedures, identify issues and use initiative in providing innovative, pragmatic solutions. Excellent numerical / verbal / written communication skills Good working knowledge of MS Office and relevant HR systems Desirable: Ideally qualified or studying for a CIPD qualification.
