Graduate Teaching Assistant (Mon-Fri) **

We are looking for Graduate Teaching Assistants (TA) to join a secondary school in the Epping Forest district, specifically Loughton, to join in September 2020. This will initially be for one full academic year until July 2021 with the potential for extension for the right candidate.
You will have the fundamental job of working with children across the whole curriculum as a 1:1 support assistant, where you will be working with children with moderate learning difficulties or barriers to learning. The children are aged between 11-16 and are working up to GCSE level.
Other responsibilities include monitoring the behaviour and progress of small groups working on a supported curriculum and also assisting statemented students with their work in mainstream classes, under the instruction of the class teacher.
Key skills and experience needed:
Previous support work within a school or other transferable child-related experience
A firm presence and strong behaviour management
Previous one to one, small group work and/or whole class support
