You can do this as a hairdresser within our salon where you will provide excellent customer service to our residents who are elderly, frail and maybe living with dementia. What will you be doing? You will be performing a broad range of services for all our residents; from cutting and styling their hair to providing hair treatments, including deep conditioning and colouring. Like with any salon you will be expected to be able to work confidently with a variety of hair lengths, types, and textures. The hours will vary but are usually between 9am and 5pm between Monday - Saturday What experience do you need? You will hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Hairdressing and barbering. You will have experience of working in a salon and be able to do cutting, blow drying, perming, hair straightening and application of colour. You will also be able to use different colour techniques e.g. foils, full head or root application, semi-permanent. You will be able to provide consultation and advice - be able to assess and understand our residents' needs, but also be able to suggest alternative styles or colours to suit them. You will naturally approachable and easy to talk to, able to relate to a variety of people with different needs and abilities. Ideally you will have experience of working with older people and be understanding of their needs. What will you get in return?
