In anticipation of the physical expansion of its campuses and the planned growth of its student cohort, the College is strengthening the Estates & Campus Operations (E&CO) Directorate to enable it to professionally support excellence in academic teaching, learning and research across all three campuses. The current team comprises 26FTE and is in the process of being restructured and grown in 2020 to reflect the expanded responsibilities for three RCA campuses. The appointment of the new Head of Business Continuity & Risk Management will complement the recent appointments of three new Deputy Directors - Campus Operations roles and a Head of Space Planning & Moves Management to the team. These new appointments each bring vital technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to E&CO, and are important to its development into a high-performing, professional and agile team. The overall purpose of the role is to support the Director of Estates & Campus Operations and the three Deputy Directors in the delivery of efficient and effective estates and facilities management services across the RCA’s Kensington, Battersea and White City campuses, with a particular focus on the management of business continuity, emergency planning and risk management across the College.  As a key member of the Estates & Campus Operations team you will ensure the provision of a professional, timely and quality driven business continuity management for all RCA premises through the use of specialist contractors and the direct labour force. You will lead on development of business continuity strategies, protocols and policies across the College. As the senior lead responsible and subject matter expert within the Estates & Campus Operations team for all aspects of the College’s physical (non-digital) business continuity, you will be autonomously responsible for strategy and policies for emergency planning, incident response and risk management across all three RCA campuses; ensuring that relevant risks are managed so as to support College operations and activities throughout the academic year.  Desirable Qualifications A good first degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a property or facilities management discipline, ideally in Business Continuity Management or a related subject.  A recognised specialist professional qualification and active membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Certificate of Business Continuity Institute).
