Head of Communications (Greater China & Intercontinental) & Head of CGA (Singapore) Communications 268983 The Communicates & Government Affairs leader promotes Innovation, drives Performance and builds Trust. Business Acumen The CGA leader thinks commercially. They have basic financial literacy. They understand the market and drivers of Performance and they can articulate Performance versus the competition. Strategic Planning and Business Partnering The CGA leader understands GSK’s purpose and IPT strategy. They understand the associated objectives of the business unit they support and GSK Innovation. They translate this understanding into aligned CGA deliverables to realise sustainable shareholder value.  The CGA leader proactively influences opinion across the range of internal and external stakeholders to safeguard GSK’s reputation and licence to operate; support it’s customer proposition and shape it’s operating environment to realise sustainable shareholder and wider stakeholder value. Compliance The CGA leader has a strong working knowledge of relevant GSK policy. They always demonstrate GSK values and work within the compliance framework to deliver business outcomes. This role acts as a custodian of GSK’s brand and reputation. The key responsibilities of this role are: 1. Strategic communications lead for the Greater China and Intercontinental markets (Japan, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore): Communications business partner to the regional SVP and member of the regional Leadership Team. Strategically drives and implements communications and engagement initiatives relevant to business priorities. Bridging global to market communications, offers regional and wider market perspectives to the global Comms team, helping them understand the needs of the business and its markets as we seek to drive performance and build corporate reputation. The role is responsible for supporting key markets and their performance in corporate reputational indexes. 4 markets in the GCI region are in scope of the 14 markets globally. Matrix support for teams in region and oversight of a communications manager. 2. This role has an additional responsibility for GSK Asia House (GSK’s Global Hub in Singapore): Managing external engagement activities for Asia House as a site (e.g. media management, VIP visits). Approver and gatekeeper of any Asia House wide communications. Managing internal corporate engagement activities for Asia House site (e.g. CEO Let’s talk) Counseling different functions and Jurong/ Quality Road/ Tuas site on external comms, especially the media. Building corporate image for GSK in Singapore. Issues and crisis management for the Singapore Hub. 3. This role also has the responsibility for Communications and Government Affairs in the Singapore LOC: Communications partner for the Singapore general manager (GM). Strategically drive and implement engagement initiatives for the GM and the LOC Leadership Team. Owning the internal communications channels and devise strategic communications plan both internally and externally (including media management). This role is the approver of all external communications materials for Singapore LOC and Singapore Hub, including letters to stakeholders, reactive statements, line to take for communications with customers (for specific initiatives). For SG LOC and SG Hub role, be the single contact point for the local media and manage the media relationship in a robust manner to build corporate reputation. For government affairs, the CGA leader continuously tracks and interpret economic, political, societal and market trends and feeds this into the evolving commercial strategy (e.g. developments in regulatory, pricing and access systems). Networks are broad and deep internally and externally and based on Trust, credibility and partnership across individuals and groups (e.g government, media, political parties, societies, representative organisations, NGOs, IGOs & trade associations). Plans should include stakeholder mapping classifications with customised advocacy, clear correlation to business priorities, and clear estimates of potential business opportunity. The CGA leader proactively engages in the health policy debate with various stakeholders internally and externally. They have a critical role in supporting the Market Access process for GSK medicines and vaccines. In SG LOC and SG Hub role, the role is the single contact point for the local media ns and a custodian of GSK corporate reputation. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 8-10 years of experience in a global MNC working across geographies and time zones Prior experience working in regional HQ in US or UK will be highly regarded Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry will be advantageous Ability to deal with media and manage vendors/agencies on communication activities *The role is location agnostic within APAC Why GSK?
