If independently financed, lead on the appointment of sales agencies, approve the sales strategy, marketing materials, launch strategy and spend.  Assess and approve, in time sensitive fashion, key offers proposed by sales agents  Oversee viability of sales figures / recoupment targets /sales agency terms. Track these post launch to help the Finance Manager forecast as accurately as possible. Support Finance Manager in securing regular statements from our studio partners, independent distributors and collection agents, and advise on audits.  Maximize films’ potential in terms of international and diverse audience reach, festival strategy, awards recognition and commercial roll-out.  Festivals Attend key festivals – Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Venice or Sundance where there is a business need, or we have films launching. Aim to support talent, to be across deals as they happen, and meet with new and existing distributors, financial partners, agents. Witness first-hand the state of the market. Build effective relationships with key festival selectors and distributors worldwide, especially in key territories Build a festival strategy for all films on the slate, making sure critical submissions and decisions are made to maximize the chance of selection and an appropriate festival premiere.  Work closely with the Press and Publicity Manager in influencing the hiring of the right PR firms on each film, making bespoke decisions to suit the filmmakers and project and launch strategy, Report back to team on market conditions, sales interest and critical / market responses to our films  Film Releases Lead on these responsibilities in collaboration with Marketing & Distribution Manager and Press & Publicity Manager Explore new distribution partnerships, particularly in the UK, and ways of working with distributors and financiers to maximize our strategic objectives.  Explore new ways of reaching as wide and diverse an audience as possible. Work closely with industry stakeholders on this aim. Ensure regularly meetings with key internal stakeholders to ensure effective internal collaboration and use of C4 resources to promote our films: press, marketing, channel management, All 4, Agency Sales & Sponsorship, 4Studio and Strategy & Consumer Insight. Oversee relationships, with support from the Marketing and Distribution Manager, with distributors on our titles. Be across distributors’ plans on films pre-release, and C4 involvement and contributions to same. Help devise marketing and PR initiatives for our filmmakers, films and overall Film4 brand, and in doing so maintain oversight of press, online and social media strategy. Attend relevant test screenings of Film4 films. Marketing and PR Lead on these responsibilities in collaboration with the Marketing & Distribution Manager and Press & Publicity Manager Input on and approve marketing campaigns for all of Film4’s output.  Lead on social media strategy and activity for Film4. Build and develop Film4’s presence on All4. Manage the Film4 policy with regards to on screen and paid ad branding, making sure it is consistent across our slate and we are always fighting for Film4’s interests. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Significant experience in a senior position in feature film distribution, whether in the independent sphere, and/or at studios or streamers. In depth knowledge of all aspects of the film industry and ability to advise on wide ranging issues across the department. Relationships and knowledge of global film distributors, sales agencies, festival programmers.  Experience in managing a team and/or third-party vendors or clients, and ensuring they are working to their potential. Ability to read scripts and watch cuts of films and comment constructively. Clear understanding of how to maximise the potential of any film in terms of international audience reach, social impact, commercial return and awards recognition. Good understanding of key legal documents and deal parameters. Maintain clear understanding of changing media landscape and how it impacts on Film4 and C4.
