Smile Education’s Leadership division are currently seeking an established and driven, primary Headteacher for a primary school based in CO16 8TQ in Clacton on Sea. This job role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, to start from Jan 2021 or sooner. If you have experience as a senior leader, in particular Head Teacher or Principal, are either local to or able to commute to the Clacton area, we would like to hear from you. We are currently working alongside a large, established trust to support one of their smaller primary schools in securing a new permanent leader. A fantastic opportunity has arisen owing to retirement of the previous head and an interim in place. The setting caters for children aged 3-11, is located not to far from the coast (is a beach school) and a rich engaging curriculum. The school has a strong OFSTED plan setting out a clear strategic plan. Staff are child focused and are committed to helping learners achieve the best possible outcomes. Their is a strong pastoral focus resonating throughout this Clacton Academy, having a positive impact on behaviour and attitudes to learning.  The ideal person would have the support of leading an committed team with an established management team. 

As the ideal candidate, you will be outcomes focused, an effective strategic planner and have a primary background (if not recent significant Primary experience). You will have expertise in T&L/ curriculum. Those with EYFS + KS1 experience will have a distinct advantage. You will have experience in engaging parents, the local community, as well as other stake holders. This Essex based Primary academy, is a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring or established head, who is motivated and enthused by the challenge of school improvement and motivated by the kudos of turning around the fate and success of a school.

The trust is clear in their vision for the school and are seeking an individual with strong values and ethics to have a fully autonomous headship. To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

Hold a relevant senior leadership qualification
Be either an experienced or aspiring Headteacher candidate
Ideally have knowledge of Essex LA procedures
Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils from a disadvantaged background
