Morgan Hunt are looking for a Homeless Assessment Officer to work for a Local Authority based in East London The Homelessness Assessment Officer will undertake the following duties: To give advice and assistance to housing applicants, in order to prevent and relieve homelessness, in line with legislation, case law, council policy objectives and priorities.To assess applications from homeless households and those threatened with homelessness in line with Part VII Housing Act 1996 Liaise with Housing Benefit and DWP to arrange for customers claims to be assessed in a timely manner to prevent homelessnessThe Homelessness Assessment Officer will have experience in the following: Able to demonstrate sensitivity to people's individual needs, to act appropriately in dealing with the needs of people from minority groups and to identify the actions that can be taken to overcome barriers facedExperience of giving Housing Advice Able to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively in English and have excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with potentially homeless people under stress.If you have the relevant skillsets for the role please apply now or alternatively call the team on for more info Morgan Hunt is a multi-award-winning recruitment Business for interim, contract and temporary recruitment and acts as an Employment Agency in relation to temporary vacancies.
