Location: South London
Salary: £25-27k Dependent upon experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with some flexibility
The successful candidate will target individuals from hard to reach communities and provide them with direction through a menu of services designed to assist them back into the labour market. Services include diagnostic assessment, action planning, and referral to training provision, employability skills, job search, job brokerage, interview techniques and aftercare.
It is essential that the Successful candidate has interpersonal skills, is technically adept, has high standards, an experienced organiser, To provide and coordinate support, advice, and guidance to potential young and adults participants, who are unemployed, redundant and economically inactive some of whom have complex needs.
Day to Day duties will include the following:
Responsible for the attraction, registration, and progression of Young People and Adults, to achieve sustained employment, training, continued education, course enrolment and completion or work experience outcomes. An Education and Employment Adviser will provide individualised Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) and use a variety of techniques including effective diagnosis, individual and group coaching, and mentoring, maximising on any specific funding or resources available to achieve these outcomes.
To understand the specific eligibility criteria of multiple projects
To prepare young people and unemployed adults in becoming EET (in Education, Employment or Training)
To inform potential clients of our menu of services and help them to feel confident accessing the service
To adequately assess the needs of the unemployed participants and liaise with relevant agencies for support
To support and assess a specific case load of unemployed adult to identify and address their needs which affect their life management, career aspirations, education, and employment
To assist the unemployed, seek and apply for work
To engage with a wide range of employers and training providers
To provide in and post work (or training) support and motivation
Work with JCP, attend meetings and visit as appropriate
To give excellent Advice and Guidance to participants creating bespoke participant journeys
To plan and coordinate appropriate interventions through a network of agencies to remove barriers to learning/employment whilst maintaining lead responsibility for referrals made
To set up and maintain relevant administration systems and procedures to support projects
Provide careers education and guidance to participants, helping them to develop their career plans, supporting participants to have high but realistic careers ideas and awareness of the local and national labour market
To follow-up and monitor participants with applying for jobs and other opportunities
