A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced income office to work remotely for a well-established Housing Association. Due to an increase in workload, an Income Officer is now required on a fixed term basis to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
Key Duties of an Income Officer-
·Maximise income through the management of current and former customers rent/ service charge accounts and sub accounts
·Manage a caseload of accounts and take the appropriate action in accordance with the Housing Associations policies and procedures
·Be responsible for taking enforcement action in cases where legal and non-legal methods are appropriate to control debt levels
·Be the first point of contact for customers and ensure that if they have difficulty in paying their rent/service charge and sub accounts are offered appropriate advice and referred to relevant agencies offering welfare and debt advice
To be a successful Income Officer-
·Be able to deliver excellent customer service at all times and handle difficult situations effectively
·Experience working as an Income Officer in a housing service environment
·Understanding of housing law particularly relating to income management
·Able to work flexibly including work outside normal working hours and to attend evening and/or weekend meetings
·A working knowledge of housing benefits and universal credit
