Posted Job Title Instructional Designer, Penn Dental Medicine - Online Education & Learning Technologies Job Profile Title Online Training Specialist Job Description Summary The Instructional Designer for Penn Dental Medicinel's Onlined Education & Learning Technologies team provides expert advice to faculty and instructional staff, as well as promotes increased understanding of, and support for the use of enterprise-class academic technologies at the School. Job Description The Instructional Designer position serves as a technical mentor and guide to faculty in applying technology to the instructional processes in a blended learning environment. Responsibilities include: prioritization and handling of multiple projects of a technical nature and accountability for delivering work by prescribed deadlines while adapting to change in a fast-paced environment; helping to administer the full life cycle of training initiatives including course designs and training material development, delivery, maintenance; and active contributor to the success of the School’s online learning and flipped-classroom initiatives by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm and superior client service. This individual will contribute to PDM's knowledge base; participate in committees, focus and pilot groups, and project teams as assigned. Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years experience required. Excellent communications skills and a strong grasp of educational technology related applications are of critical importance. Optional but beneficial skills include: the ability to lead hands-on and web based instruction; developing Train-the-Trainer workshops, and experience in facilitating traditional and alternative forms of assessment in higher education (e.g. electronic exams, web-based proctored evaluations, etc.).
