The Company My client is a technology business with offices based just outside of Sunderland. They develop a range of specialist software products that perform business critical services for their customer base. With an excellent market share and no real drop in demand over the last 12 months they are in an strong position to push on with new development projects. The Role As a Lead Developer you will; Contribute to the design and development of new solutions as well as continuously improve the team’s principles and best practices and fully engage in the software development process. Design and build robust software and deployment solutions. Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of software engineering principles and the whole software development lifecycle (SDLC). Participate in all agile planning meetings and stand-ups. Drive all aspects of application design - including but not limited to high performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, error logging, debugging, scalability, development environment configuration and testing. Take an existing piece of work and fix any issues associated with it. Demonstrate competent knowledge of architectural methods and design patterns - OO and S.O.L.I.D principles. The Person Required skills: C# ASP.NET MVC HTML / CSS Entity framework .Net Core JavaScript (Typescript) Azure cloud native development Serverless functions Message queues Storage accounts Agile methodologies Unit testing (XUnit) RESTful APIs The successful candidate will: Understand Lean concepts, delivering value quickly and failing fast. Turn a problem in to a solution with minimal support and without being tempted by gold plating. Communicate and negotiate effectively their peers. Coach and mentor others within the project team and wider development/delivery organisation. Ideally candidates will be able to work from the office in Sunderland when required however the company are taking a very flexible approach to remote working.
