PFA Charity Trustee
Role Description We expect the Nominated Trustees to contribute actively to the PFA Charity Board in giving strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets. We also expect the Nominated Trustees, together with the other trustees of the PFA Charity, to ensure that the PFA Charity pursues efficiently and effectively the objectives of the PFA Charity. This includes being responsible for the performance of the PFA Charity while ensuring that the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. The trustees of the PFA Charity act as careful guardians of the PFA Charity's property and funds, taking all care over their proper maintenance and deployment. Your Qualities It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the duties of trustees, a commitment to the PFA Charity's objects, aims and values, and a demonstrated willingness to devote time to carry out your responsibilities. Whilst not essential for this role, the PFA would welcome applications from those with a finance and/or accounting background. We expect you to be strategic and forward looking, exercising good, independent judgement, and be able to think creatively in the context of the evolving organisation and challenging external environment. We expect that the Nominated Trustees will make full use of their skills, knowledge and experience to help the PFA Charity make good decisions. Time Commitment and Remuneration The successful candidate will be required to spend a minimum of 4 days per annum on work for the PFA Charity, including attendance at quarterly meetings. In addition to meetings of the board of trustees, other contact – usually electronic or by telephone – will be necessary. Whilst this position is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, all reasonable expenses incurred whilst performing the duties of a PFA Charity trustee will be reimbursed.
