Policy & Standards Advisor Do you have passion for Cyber Security and experience of supporting the implementation of policy & standards? This is a fantastic opportunity for a well organised and pro-active individual with experience within a Cyber Security environment to work for the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) in the Home Office Why this role is important As the Policy & Standards lead you will be responsible for supporting OCISO with the development, implementation and ongoing management of cyber security policies and standards that underpin the designing, running and decommissioning of technological solutions across the Home Office. Job Responsibilities You will be responsible for supporting liaison with experts within OCISO and stakeholders across Home Office ensuring the cyber policies and standards are developed effectively, communicated clearly and understood and complied with. You will contribute to developing guidance on how to implement the policies within various Home Office Business areas and support the development and implementation of a process to manage and approve requests for exemptions to policies and standards. As the Policy & Standards Lead you will collaborate with peers within Home Office and other Government departments to align and deconflict with their security policy areas and support any gap analysis that requires development of new cyber security policies. At all times, you will ensure that OCISO's stakeholders implement and comply with the cyber policies and standards, and that these policies and standards undergo continuous improvement to ensure that they meet the needs of the department and its obligations to Government. We will see that the Policy & Standards Lead holds: Experience of working in Cyber Security, including developing and implementing associated policies and standards Awareness of cyber security policies and standards. Understanding and knowledge of the definition, iteration, stakeholder challenge and approval of cyber policies and standards. Working experience of acting in an influential manner to champion and ensure compliance with centrally owned policies, standards or processes across multiple business areas Co-ordination and management of a complex stakeholder environment, including undertaking liaison, and building a network, with key partners inside and outside of the department. Knowledge and understanding of cyber trends, threat and vulnerability intelligence, and industry best practice is also highly desirable.
