Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation based in Glasgow/Dundee, are currently looking to recruit a Product Owner for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£500-555/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based. Responsibilities: Develop and own the vision for assigned product or products, ensuring that vision is aligned to strategic objectives and core values and supported by key stakeholders. Lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop and iterate the current live product to meet the needs of users. These users will include applicants and recipients of advice and financial support; stakeholder organisations; and administrative staff. Establish, define and present a coherent representation of both internal and external user priorities within the delivery team and ensure this is used to drive all decision making Create effective, prioritised product descriptions to meet user needs in a cost-effective way Interpret user research in order to make the correct product decisions ensuring they reflect user needs Develop and own the product roadmap and ensure that it is effectively communicated to stakeholders and interested parties via appropriate comms channels and governance Ensure that all work undertaken and solutions delivered meet the Digital Standards. Understand the relationship between their specific products and the wider systems and processes that comprise the service offering, reflecting this within their area. Write options appraisals, provide input to business cases and provide information that enable the organisation to choose appropriate delivery options and/or procure technology and services. Communicate credibly with a wide range of stakeholders, within the organisation and Partner organisations Essential Skills: Experienced Product Owner. Significant experience of the digital work, ideally data sharing and also the Scottish Public Sector landscape. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and teams in the organisation, IT providers and partner organisations to deliver services and systems, with the aim of providing better results for citizens. Ability to bring together views and perspectives of a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including commercial and procurement specialists to provide a strong evidence base and documentation for decisions. Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and set priorities for yourself and others in a project and/or programme, using established, recognised best practice project methodologies Ability to enable decision-making at the right level within your teams, removing unnecessary bureaucracy and facilitating delivery.
