We are currently recruiting for Weekend Production Operatives at our site based in Abergavenny on a fixed term contract until mid December 2020. To be a Weekend Production Operative in our Abergavenny team you will need enthusiasm, commitment and an eagerness to learn. Whilst undergoing on the job training, you will also undertake development in the areas of food safety and health & safety. Working Hours: Range from 06:00-16:30 Saturday and Sunday - Flexibility to work within these hours is required Hourly Rate: £8.90 with shift allowance on top Purpose of the role: You will be responsible for ensuring the products you produce meet correct customer standards. As an Abergavenny weekend production operative you will play a key role in the team, helping to meet production targets. Your key responsibilities will include: Ability to work in all areas of the production facility Achieve required standards / targets within the assigned area; individually and as part of a team. Carry out all duties in line with customer specifications and requirements. Undertake any other tasks as directed by your Team Leader Handling/lifting of weights averaging 18kg - 23kgs Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines What we are looking for: Basic level of English - essential Basic level of numeracy - essential Basic Food Hygiene Certificate - desirable Previous experience of working in the food manufacturing industry - desirable A little about us : Avara Foods is one of the UK's largest food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the nation's most popular supermarkets and restaurants.
