Production Planner – Mid- Norfolk – Excellent package

We have been asked to identify an outstanding Production Planner to join the team within our very successful client company. Reporting to The Planning Manager the Planner will be responsible for the planning and dispatch of products to meet customer demands from the Fakenham site.

The role:

The successful applicant will be able to ensure the correct SKU’s are produced or ordered so there is sufficient stock cover to meet customer demands.
Make effective use of storage capacities.
Be responsible for specifying which SKU’s are required, and managing the corresponding malt storage to meet customer demands.
Co-ordinate malt dispatch with sales, export and transport within the CSU unit to meet customer requirements and manage capacity.
Ensure customer bag orders are planned and fulfilled, and warehouse stocks maintained.
Maintain an open, pro-active relationship with sales, export, transport and production and assist when needs arise.
Be an active member of the Central Services Unit.
Use demand planner tool to determine sack SKU demand and maintain appropriate warehouse stock.
Monitor stock movement and records to maintain traceability and manage storage and dispatch.
The Person:

You will have strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to prioritise, work productively and efficiently, and manage time effectively.
Work logically and troubleshoot problems.
Excellent IT and Maths skills to be able to use the different planning applications and calculate demand and stock cover.
Excellent communication and listening skills to be able to relay information between different departments and the UK Planning Manager.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with a methodical approach at all times
High attention to detail
Ideally you will have experience in or an understanding of malting operations or a similar processing industry.
IT and/or Maths GCSEs or equivalent with Advanced Excel knowledge
Relevant work experience in demand planning and production scheduling would be an advantage
