Our Children's Home situated in Talocher, Monmouth is seeking a permanent full-time Residential Support Worker. Talocher Farmhouse is a registered Children's Homes which can accommodate a maximum of eight young people of either gender usually ranging in age from 10-18 years.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day to day care for our Young People, supporting them in activities, encouraging then to join local clubs, ensuring all health needs are met, supporting them in education, increasing self-esteem and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe. Working as part of the team you will ensure the home is kept to a good standard in all aspects of house-keeping.

Our Support Worker roles in Talocher offer a salary of up to £17,004 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the training of this.) Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Due to the remote location of our home a valid clean driving license is essential.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Support Worker, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

Please see an example of the rolling rota pattern over 3 weeks below.

Week 1: Tuesday & Saturday

Week 2: Wednesday & Friday

Week 3: Monday, Thursday & Saturday

Staff could work a shift ranging from the hours of 08.00am -23.00pm.

Approximately 5 sleep in's a month are required (can vary with annual leave etc.) A typical sleep is 23.00 pm - 07.30 am.
