Senior IT Delivery Manager

*£500 per day* *Local Council* *Remote contract*

The role:

* Work with IT Operations, Change and Business colleagues and 3rd party suppliers to create and maintain a rolling Development Delivery Schedule, including monthly releases, adhoc releases, planned fixes, enhancements and upgrades of in-house and third party technical and business applications.

* Implement and execute appropriate governance and oversight to ensure safe delivery of IT change, including the design and implementation of appropriate controls, in line with the Change Delivery Framework and the IT Control Framework.

* Define and manage IT project and programme methodology and integrate with the wider Change Management approach.

* Ensure that programmes and projects requiring internal IT changes and external third-party software or applications, are co-ordinated and delivered as complete business solutions, in line with the Council’s business expectations and the agreed delivery approach.

* Manage programme resource and budgets, through established and new governance processes

* Manage IT project relationships and co-ordinate work between different teams at different locations.

* Manages the delivery of the end to end IT Programme including any 3rd party deliveries that maybe required.

* Ensures that the end product meets the IT project specification.

* Balances IT project scope, schedule, quality and risks.

Skills and Experience:

* Familiar with IT industry standards, ITIL, ISO, IEC, etc and the principles embedded within them.

* Experience with multiple technology platforms including networking, end user computing, datacentre and Microsoft cloud platforms

* Expertise in DevOps principles and practice including continuous integration, deployment automation, deployment via version control, continuous deployment.

* Experience with Microsoft cloud environments such as Office 365, Azure or Dynamics/PowerPlatform

* Good knowledge of various server platforms and how to scale and configure each for reliability and automation.

* Strong interpersonal skills to build a high degree of credibility and presence to negotiate, influence, inspire confidence and respect, to develop a network within and outside of the Council

* In-depth commercial and technical management expertise in a variety of environments.

* Familiar with principles, processes and practices associated with the ICT environment including managing the client relationship, planning the assignment and consultancy styles.

* Familiar with corporate, industry and professional standards, policies, regulations, compliance and associated codes of conduct.

* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of best practice modelling as it relates to Platform Management and the delivery of value for money and savings.
