Senior Prescribing Advisor Job Reference: 893-HMRCCG-1033 Employer: Department: Admin Location: Number One Riverside, Rochdale Salary: £45,753 - £51,668 pa NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG) and Rochdale Borough Council which brings together all commissioning responsibilities across health and care (including public health) into a single function as we work to transform the way the services are commissioned and delivered across the Borough, and within Greater Manchester Health and Social Care devolution arrangements. Accountable to the Head of Medicines Optimisation, the successful candidates will assist in developing medicines management strategies and QIPP medicines optimisation plans across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale. Working closely with GP clinical leads and local / national IT systems you will be involved in the development of clinical audits to improve patient outcomes. You will also have direct patient contact where this could be beneficial in improving medication use and reducing harms from medicines. Successful candidates will also work closely with local provider organisations across multiple sectors. Working with the CCG clinical leads & other clinicians from primary and secondary care as well as community services and the private providers to deliver clear patient pathways and guarantee cost effective and equitable use of NHS resources. The post holder will adopt a matrix working approach to deliver the CCGs' shared vision, support the development and implementation of their strategies and transformation plans, working with employees across other CCG and RBC directorates to address the challenges faced locally and across the wider footprint. You will need to be enthusiastic and a capable individual who can provide support in the delivery of the medicines optimisation service and demonstrate a high level of professionalism with a highly organized, systematic and efficient approach to patient care and able to work effectively alone and as part of a team. You will need good written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must meet the essential criteria in the person specification.
