About the role Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager - Multi Utilities to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business . Site based across England and Wales . Role Purpose Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in their responsibility for overall profit and loss of a standard or major project whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, sustainability, environmental and quality are implemented. To support and promote a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver. To support in the winning of a number of projects in accordance with the Power T&D Strategic Plan as necessary What you'll be doing As a Site Manager - Multi Utilities , your main responsibilities are as follows: Delivery of the Power T&D business strategy and objectives on your project(s) and outperform on key success measures Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager to manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets Understand the project requirements/scope and relevant commercial terms and conditions for the project NEC contract conditions. Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager to proactively manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in leadership of Zero Harm and drive for continuous improvement across SHEQ Collaborate relentlessly to ensure best opportunities for Power T&D are targeted and that the resources are utilised in the most efficient way on your project Show clear and visible leadership and display the right leadership behaviours whilst understanding others Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager to develop and support the project team to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager to successfully implement the Gated Business Lifecycle at every opportunity Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager to work collaboratively with the Multiutilities Business Stream and Support Functions to deliver your project(s) and enhance solid working relationships as one team across the Whole PT&D Business. Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in planning, controlling and managing the delivery of your project(s) utilising the necessary resource and skills, within the agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality Instil a strong safety culture and develop the capability of our project team(s) to take personal responsibility through strong visible leadership Drive yourself and others to comply with all business policies, procedures and governance utilising the BMS, and required MURS standards accreditations process to fulfil the project needs Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager lead on developing a high-performance culture of one team Talk positively and listen actively across the business and the people within it Support of the tender process into early contractor involvement, through delivery to handover and closedown. Constantly seeking out talent for the future, and support to develop others within the team. Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in the day to day management of client expectations whilst promoting the capability and value we bring Who we're looking for The following qualities and experience are essential: Experience of supporting the Delivery of Overhead Line, Cabling or Substation schemes up to 400kV , and/or Utilities such as Clean and Wastewater, Gas and Telecoms is preferred. Knowledge and experience of Project Management methodology such as APM. Strong People Management skills who can adapt and be flexible to all scenarios Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control Excellent relationship management skills with all parties Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex design, programming, operational and commercial problems Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross-functional teams towards solutions Degree Qualified in Electrical/Civil Engineering Discipline - desirable Qualification in APM desirable Why work for us Day in, day out, our skilled and dedicated teams deliver a range of proactive and reactive services which support a reliable and safe supply of power flowing to millions of homes and businesses around the world.
