What is the Role ? Reporting to various Contracts Managers, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks adhering to and promoting the company's core safety values at all times. This will include the installation, termination and testing of electrical / fibre optic and structured cabling systems as well as supervision / auditing of other SSET staff / sub-contractors/contractors during these tasks ensuring that SSET's high standards are maintained focusing on SHE and Quality. You will be assisting the various Contracts Managers in carrying out site surveys, preparing costs and quotations. Your main day to day focus will be the running of multiple work sites to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion whilst adhering to the company's core values at all times. Additionally, you may be required to join the callout team on a rostered basis to manage various third parties suppliers to 'keep the lights on' at our sites. What do I need? We are looking for a fully qualified Electrical Technician or a qualified Data / Telecoms Technician with skills in the management and control of multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience covering the following; - Demonstrate detailed working knowledge of Electrical installation including testing and or Structured cabling systems including fibre optic. This should include testing and commissioning of the various systems. - Working in the following environments would be advantageous: Substations, electrical switching rooms, Data centres, Railways, Offices, schools - Knowledge of emergency callout practices - Be able to write and receive work packages and safety documentation - Liaise with Clients, Sub Contractors and Suppliers as required. - Have the confidence / experience and knowledge to solve on site day to day issues within the scope of the project. - demonstrate the ability to use a PC / tablet to receive / send e mails, photos, drawings etc. - Carry out on site daily risk assessments / site inductions / vehicle and plant check sheets / HAVS / assist with the completion of construction phase plans / site audits / tool box talks - Have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities under the current CDM regulations. Ideally you would hold one or more of the following qualifications - Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation - City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent). - Qualification in the current IEE Wiring regulations (BS7671/18th edition) - City and Guilds in Cooper and fibre optic systems or equivalent - suitable graded ECS/CSCS card - Sub Station authorisation (Cat1,2 & 3) - SSSTS / SMSTS Our Benefits We're committed to ensuring we offer our people a great place to work, with competitive salary, contributory pension plan and benefits package
