You've got what we call 'a good developer head'.
You like to understand how things work, breaking things down to their smallest components, understanding how it all works together and realising that it can probably be done better and even simpler.
A willingness to make mistakes, you'll mess a few things up, and you're cool with that. It's the only way you're going to learn new tech, concepts and systems, right?
Your work is your craft, you strive to become a master craftsman, coffee and perseverance are two of your main tools, how else are you are you going to find a fix to that bug?
Some would give up and call it a feature, not you. Taking pride in your work, you'd rather spend the next 6 hours in a caffeine fueled frenzy to find a solution than release sloppy software.
You're a full stack developer who enjoys and is open to learning new technologies and is keen to work with the latest and greatest tools
Sound like you? You'll fit in well here...
What we're up to
We're currently in the process of shifting our London HQ to our state of the art campus at the SoapWorks in Salford, so we're currently rebuilding our digital development teams pretty much from scratch.
Meaning we're looking for a number of Software Developers to join our Digital Squads. Maybe you've got a bit of skin in the game and looking for a fresh challenge, or you're early on in your career and looking for somewhere to grow, maybe you're somewhere in between.
Wherever you're at in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
About the roles
Our digital teams aspire to use the latest cutting edge technology to create market leading products and services that will delight our customers.
We're building a brand new microservices architecture using .Net Core, Angular and Azure - you don't need to have all of these skills but an appetite for learning and a good software development background is what we are looking for. You'll be key in developing some of TalkTalk's key products in the coming years
Our teams are made up of cross functional agile squads and work mostly in two week sprints using a mixture of Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
We operate across all facets of large scale products so there's plenty of variety - front end/backend work, API improvements, high-throughput ingestion pipelines, etc that gives everyone a great opportunity to expand their skills and grow in their careers.
You'll have a real opportunity to develop diverse skill sets and gain exposure to the latest technologies and innovations e.g. AI and Bots technology Hackathons and use of Cloud technologies in a totally API-Lead fashion.
What we can offer you
We're big on giving people a choice about how they work at TalkTalk. That's why we're embracing what we call 'next generation ways of working'. Put simply, we'll give you a real say about how, when and where you work - and all the tools you need to do it.
We want everyone here to have an impact; to have a voice. To be part of something big. To be part of something new. In every role, in every team, people here are given a say. What can we do better? How can we simplify things for our customers? Where next? What next? How can we get where we want to be? And when can we get there?
We'll get the best out of you so you can do great things for our customers.
You'll join a pacy, dynamic and innovative environment where collaboration is the norm and development opportunities are everywhere. We want to help you to do your best work and have your biggest impact. Your development will always be led by you, supported by your line manager and backed by the business.
As well as providing a great range of core benefits such as annual bonus, a company pension scheme and private medical insurance, we also:
• Embrace flexible working and work from home once or twice a week
• Support you to achieve your career goals
• Offer income protection and life assurance
• Offer a range of discounts on products and shopping
We're TalkTalk, a challenger brand in the world of Broadband, Phone, Mobile and TV. Our job is to bring the best value connectivity, to everyone. We believe every customer matters, so we offer products and services that are simple, affordable, reliable and fair.
We've never been afraid to shake things up. It's been a way of life for us ever since we were founded. We're proud of what we've achieved - and we want to keep on pushing the boundaries. So today we're putting our focus on customers and technology like never before. After all, the better our technology, the better placed we'll be to get things right first time for the millions of people who count on it.
Our plans for the future are exciting, and not just for us. If you've got ambitions as big as our own, you can help to revolutionise our business. And right now, that's got to be the biggest reason to get on board.
