Support Worker - Southampton
We have full-time and part-time roles available
We have day hours, Waking Nights and Sleep-In's
Shifts are; 8am-8pm and Waking Nights 8pm-8am
£10.20 per hour
We need someone with experience in working with people with Learning Disabilities, Autism or behaviours that challenge.

About you:
Can you empathise and interact with individuals, remaining calm and positive when faced with behaviours that challenge? Experience of working with autism, learning disabilities and non-verbal communication would be an advantage. The role can be physically and emotionally demanding, but the rewards are high, giving you the satisfaction of supporting people in achieving their goals and expanding the horizons of their lives.
About PBS4:
PBS4 are a non-profit social enterprise who specialise in supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours by using Positive Behaviour Support. We support individuals living with their own tenancies in their homes. PBS4 provides support to a network of people in Southampton, Dorset, Oxford and Reading.
About the person you will support:
Chelsea* is nearly 18-years-old female who requires 24 hour support to enable her to achieve the goals she has in life. Chelsea is looking for experienced people to support her who are kind, relaxed and can be sensitive to her needs. We need someone who is experienced in supporting people with learning Disabilities and/or Autism. Chelsea struggles to understand how people are feeling, she often mis-reads facial expressions and tone of voice so she needs some patient who will help her.
Chelsea would like people to support her with baking, menu planning and cooking. Chelsea would like people to support her putting on her make up and colouring her hair. She loves shopping for clothes and enjoys going to Shake away.
Chelsea is a big fan of 21 Pilots and Billie Eilish enjoys playing on the Nintendo Wii, she is also keen to go to theme parks, Flip out, cinema and music concerts. In the past, Chelsea has enjoyed roller blading and ice skating and is keen to do these activities again!
Chelsea needs someone who will support her to be as independent as possible going into her adult life, whilst ensuring that she is safe.
