Support Worker (Known Internally as Enablement assistant)
Shifts are; 8pm-8am
£10.20 per hour and £60 per sleep-in
Location: Southampton, Hampshire.
About the role
Chelsea* is an 18-year-old female who requires 24 hour support to enable her to achieve the goals she has in life. Chelsea is looking for experienced people to support her, you will need to have experience in supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism or behaviour that may challenge. She will need people who are kind, relaxed and can be sensitive to her needs. Chelsea struggles to understand how people are feeling, she often mis-reads facial expressions and tone of voice so she will need someone who is patient to help her. She needs someone who is resillient to physical and emotional behaviours. Chelsea suffers with a mood deficiet and often struggles to read facial expressions. She needs a lot of reassuring and consistency within her staff team.
Chelsea would like people to support her with; baking, menu planning and cooking. Chelsea would like people to support her putting on her make up and colouring her hair. She loves shopping for clothes and enjoys going to Shake away. Chelsea needs someone who will support her to be as independent as possible going into her adult life, whilst ensuring that she is safe.
Chelsea is a big fan of 21 Pilots and Billie Eilish and enjoys playing on the Nintendo Wii. She is also keen to go to theme parks, Flip out, cinema and music concerts. In the past, Chelsea has enjoyed roller blading and ice skating and is keen to do these activities again!

About PBS4
We are a not for profit and social enterprise support provider for adults and young adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism. We support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.
Within PBS4, we call Support Workers ‘Enablement Assistants’. As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Manager, Deputy Enablement Manager and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership. Your shift pattern may consist of day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
