Support Worker… I am a gentleman living in my own home and I am looking for Support Workers who can help me to reach my potential in life. I have two staff during the day and night. I have been in residential care and hospital for a lot of my adult life and I am now ready to live in the community with a team of staff around me to help me to learn new skills and live a meaningful life in my own home. I need you to be; Experienced in working with a Positive Behaviour Support Model and use proactive strategies effectively to help me stay safe and make the best of my opportunities. I am a wheelchair user so my staff will need to support me with transfers. I need you to be outgoing and easy to talk to, I need you to be understanding and non-judgemental and support me to manage my needs in a positive way. I need a team who can be creative, consistent and support me to develop appropriate ways of expressing myself. I need you to remain calm under pressure, and have the ability to comply with Forensic informed care plans, follow routines and understand what is happening as this will help me to feel safe, engage better with you and build positive relationships. I like activities such as going to the disco, I have a good sense of humour and enjoy having a chat it is important that I am listed to and understood, I like dogs, am very passionate about football and enjoy having a KFC so it would be helpful if you had similar interests.
