Talbot Head of HR
We are hiring a Head of HR who will report into and work with the Chief Executive Officer, Talbot and the AIG Chief Human Resources Office, international General Insurance. The role holder will be a member of the AIG Group HR Senior Leadership team whilst leading the Talbot HR team in identifying and implementing strategies that support the goals of the business, having achieved support for those strategies from Talbot senior management and possibly the Board. They will a lso guide the organisation through the myriad aspects of UK and international employment and other relevant legislation The responsibilities of the role are broad and cover the following - Be a senior member of the Group HR Team and ensure that all Talbot activity is consistent with Group wide initiatives/approaches. Keep up-to-date with relevant employment legislation both UK and European, and ensure Talbot complies with requirements. Advise and assist directors on employment/HR issues, being prepared to step in to protect the Company if the need arises. Partner with the businesses in the market, develop excellent working relationships and bring support and leadership on issues that affect them as a whole, acting as a trusted advisor Oversee and provide day to day support and coaching to Line Managers on all aspects of HR Management and the employee lifecycle. Oversee and work with managers during disciplinary, capability or grievance matters. Oversee and work with the HR team to develop HRIS and implement throughout the Company. Co-ordinate and manage the annual salary review and bonus award process for all Talbot offices and in conjunction with AIG. Take a proactive role in Committees set up for the purpose of driving forward agreed agendas that support the HR plan. Champion and support change management and business transformation in line with the business’ development plans Provide information to senior managers for benchmarking of salaries and support them in the decision making process as it relates to all aspects of remuneration. Report to the Board and Remuneration Committee on HR matters as required. Be the contact with the Group Share Comp team in respect of share administration for Talbot staff. Oversee recruitment and selection throughout Talbot, working closely with the Resourcing Business Partner. Interview candidates as appropriate. Ensure recruitment procedures are followed. Work closely with the Resourcing Business Partner to ensure Talbot have a wide range of talent pipelines such as work experience, interns, apprentices, graduates etc. Review and enhance the resourcing strategy Work closely with the L&TD team to develop and retain emerging talent such as apprentices, graduates etc. Manage the Talbot HR budget / planning process annually. Develop, draft and manage policies that support the wellbeing of all employees Review and renew benefits annually to ensure they remain retentive and competitive in the Lloyd’s employment market. Talbot overseas offices - w ork closely with local HR team members in the overseas offices to ensure consistency in the HR approach with London and across the Group more generally. Provide support for employment issues and recruitment Oversee Talbot’s HR compliance with GDPR, including: Supporting HR in the completion of the PRR process through the OneTrust tool (where necessary Staff training and driving awareness of AIG Privacy processes, data protection and the requirements of the GDPR ; and Ensuring that Talbot’s HR IT systems and procedures are GDPR compliant; Ensuring that Talbot’s Privacy processes are aligned with AIG’s processes where possible. To oversee facilities within a tenanted building environment and work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the Company complies with any applicable Health & Safety legislation. Ensure the Business Continuity Plan is maintained and updated and in line with current Company operations. To oversee the Marketing and Communications strategy for Talbot Experience and skillset Required - Broad experience in general HR Financial services background, preferably with previous Lloyd’s experience. CIPD qualified or equivalent qualification Thorough and up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation HR Information Systems – be competent in using HR and LMS systems Knowledge of psychometric testing Good IT skills Good working knowledge of career development practices and training within the workplace A Good knowledge of business continuity Ability to work under pressure and with staff at all levels Tact and the ability to deal with difficult situations Confident in leading and motivating an HR team Demonstrate an understanding of and be able to work with different personalities and behavioural styles It has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
