Overview of the Role A fantastic opportunity to join a well-established metalworking distribution company as an apprentice. The primary objective of the Receiving Department is to ensure all incoming deliveries are accepted and unloaded. Main Duties To unload all deliveries from courier vehicles in a safe manner from our service yard, either manually or using a counter balance truck. To check the condition and quantity of all deliveries to ensure accurate deliveries are received correctly and accurately. To book product into stock. Collecting deliveries from the holding area, checking deliveries against supplier paperwork, checking deliveries against the business system. Ability to identify hazardous products or material and process them through the booking-in and put away processes in a prioritised manner. Put away product stock, collecting carts from each receiver. Achieve department EPK (error per thousand) targets for customer accurancy. Ensure we always work in a safe clean environment. Ensure hourly productivity targets are met for all processes and job roles. Continually deliver excellent customer service through day to day activity. To work on a job role rota that could change on a day to day basis due to business needs. Requirement to receive and attend external training and operate FLT, PPT and man up vehicles is mandatory. This includes mandatory rope escape training. Required Warehouse experience Stock control knowledge Basic data entry skills Literate and numerate A good comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and safety awareness Attention to detail Physically fit and able to lift with good manual handling skills and awareness Desired Qualities Good work ethic Positive can do attitude Team worker Flexible and adaptable Dedicated and committed Working Hours Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm (half an hour unpaid lunch) Total hours per week = 40 Weekly Wage - £172.80 Desired Qualifications Maths & English GCSE 4/C or equivalent Training Provided Warehouse Operative Future Prospects The business is really keen to offer permanent employment to the right person and subject to the successful completion of the apprenticeship
