Can you make a difference in a professional Key Stage 2 environment with a team of strong teachers and leaders around you?Randstad Education is working closely with a large primary school in the Chelmsford area, who are looking to appoint a Year 5 Teacher for a 2 term maternity cover starting in April 2021. The position is full time and until Christmas 2021, although there may be a permanent opportunity at the school for the right candidate.The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner, be reflective and flexible, be a proactive learner and dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners. You will need to recognise and nurture individual qualities and strengths of both staff and children alike.The main duties of the role include:* Contributing to the preparation and development of programmes of study, schemes of work, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements throughout the school, including school trips, special assemblies, performances and special events.* Planning and preparing lessons in line with school policies and schemes of work.* Teaching of lessons according to the individual needs of children, having high expectations and setting challenging targets.* Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children within the classroom ensuring equal access to lessons and their content.* Setting of work for pupils who may not be able to attend school, in agreement with the Headteacher.* Marking work and providing feedback and next steps to pupils in line with the school Marking and Feedback Policy.* Keeping up to date assessments on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.* Using assessment to inform planning and ensuring Assessment for Leaning is embedded.* Administering assessment tasks and test in line with school policy.In return the school can children who are eager and ready to learn.Strong values that are the core of all that we do.Supportive staff, parents and governors who are committed to the school.A positive and supportive learning environment that promotes continual professional development.A friendly, welcoming team both within the school and as part of a wider trust of successful schools.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity or any others we may be currently working on, please contact the Primary Team on or on jake.hancock
